Cowboys Blank Top-Seeded Eagles 21-0

Breckenridge ran for 300 yards on Saturday at New York Mills as the fifth-seeded Cowboys blanked the top-seeded Eagles 21-0 in the Section 6A semifinals.  The Cowboys had 345 total yards on the day and defensively they held the Eagles to just 132 total yards (102 rushing, 30 passing).

Gavin Pederson got the scoring started with a 7 yard touchdown run in the first quarter and Bailey Evans added the extra point for a 7-0 lead.  Later in the quarter, Evans ran the ball in from the 7 yard line and added the PAT kick for a 14-0 Breckenridge lead.

The other touchdown came on a 31 yard run by Paul Armitage.  It was followed by a third PAT kick by Evans, putting the score at 21-0.

Armitage had a huge day running the football with 121yard son 15 carries.  Alex Sanchez added 83 yards on 12 attempts and Pederson finished with 71 yards on 15 carries.  Evans completed 4-of-9 passes for 45 yards and his leading receiver was Sanchez with two catches for 25 yards.

Breckenridge will play Ottertail Central for the Section 6A title on Friday at 5:30pm at the Fargodome.
