Fifth-seeded Sebeka paid a visit to Brandon-Evansville on Wednesday and handed the fourth-seeded Chargers a 24-22 loss in the opening round of the Section 4 9-Man football playoffs.  The Chargers season ends with a record of 4-5, while Sebeka (4-5) will play at top-seeded Wheaton/Herman-Norcross at 2:00pm Saturday in Wheaton.

Jasper Hosey broke loose for a 60 yard touchdown run in the first quarter to give Sebeka a 6-0 lead.

The Trojans took a 12-0 lead when Hosey hauled in a 26 yard TD pass from Hank Tellers early in the second quarter.  A pair of Micah Fuller to Ryland Yeats touchdown passes, the first covering 45 yards and the second from 14 yards out, along with a successful two-point run by Yeats following the first score, gave Brandon-Evansville a 14-12 lead going into halftime.

Hosey opened the second half with a 61 yard touchdown run, putting Sebeka back on top, 18-14, and then picked off a Fuller pass and returned it for a TD for a 24-14 advantage.

Fuller completed a 12 yard touchdown pass to Stephen Hamilton in the fourth quarter and a two-point conversion run by Yeats cut the Trojans lead to 24-22.  That ended the scoring for the night.

Sebeka finished with 349 total yards, 309 on the ground.  Hosey carried 12 times for 189 yards and caught 4 passes for 44 yards.  Tellers completed 5-of-9 passes for 40 yards.

Brandon-Evansville was led by Fuller (7 completions, 13 attempts, 149 yards, 3 TD’s), Logan Haburn (13 carries, 77 yards) and Yeats (4 catches, 87 yards, 2 TD’s).  Haburn led the defense with 9 solo tackles and 9 assisted tackles.  William Englund had 2 solo tackles and 10 assisted tackles.
