M State Sweeps Riverland

M State worked an efficient offensive attack at the net in their 3-0 (25-18, 25-19, 25-17) sweep of Riverland on Friday night.  The Spartans had 47 kills, led by 16 from Faith Marion, 11 from Kaleigh Sip and 10 from Emily DehlerKaia Strom distributed 34 set assists on the night.

“We were happy to get a solid win to start off the weekend,” said head volleyball coach Abby Crowser. “We needed it to get back on track and it was also a great way to celebrate our sophomores who we recognized tonight. We have one more tough game to finish out regular season before playoffs, against Rochester, but we are looking forward to good competition to prepare for the regional tournament.”

The Spartans served 92% (68-74) in the match, led by Marion (15/15, 2 aces, Strom (11/11), Kendra Emery (14/15, 2 aces), Laci Strom (9/10, 2 aces) and Avery Wanner (13/16).  Wanner had a team high 29 digs, Emery had 20 and Marion finished with 10.

The lady Spartans close out their regular season schedule with a noon start Saturday at home against Rochester.
