The Breckenridge Cowgirls finished in third place at the Fergus Falls Blocktoberfest Volleyball Tournament on Thursday. In pool play, the Cowgirls beat Fergus Falls 2-0 (25-17, 25-19) and Win-E-Mac 2-0 (25-14, 25-13), qualifying for the Gold Division Tournament. After losing to Detroit Lakes 2-0 (25-23, 25-15), Breckenridge won the third place match over Hillcrest Lutheran Academy 2-1 (25-16, 25-27, 15-11).
Leaders in the win over Fergus Falls were Abby Johnson (10 kills, 6 digs, 1 ace, 1 block assist), Sydni Roberts (7 digs, 3 aces), Addie Twidwell (2 solo blocks, 1 block assist, 6 kills), Mattea Vig (4 kills), Katlyn Kaehler (9 digs), Parker Yaggie (5 set assists, 4 digs) and Kelsey Ceroll (15 set assists, 3 digs).
Top stats in the win over Win-E-Mac were Johnson (8 kills, 5 aces, 4 digs), Kaehler (8 digs, 3 kills, 1 ace), Yaggie (5 set assists, 3 digs, 2 aces) and Ceroll (11 set assists, 6 digs, 3 kills).
In their semifinal match against Detroit Lakes in the Gold Division the Cowgirls were led by Johnson (9 kills, 5 digs, 3 aces), Roberts (12 digs), Kaehler (4 digs, 2 kils), Yaggie (7 set assists, 5 digs, 1 ace) and Ceroll (10 set assists, 2 digs, 1 ace).
In the third place match versus Hillcrest, Johnson (9 kills, 9 digs, 2 aces), Roberts (14 digs, 2 aces), Twidwell (7 kills, 3 block assists), Kaehler (5 kills, 6 digs), Yaggie (14 set assists, 1 ace) and Ceroll (13 set assists, 4 digs, 3 aces) led the way for the Cowgirls.
