The Battlers started off great in set one controlling the tempo and making very few mistakes. Frazee was able to rally and take the lead in 22-19 in set two. Battlers made a big push to tie the set and played good defense to take the set. Set three was a roller coaster with the Battlers taking a few good leads but the Hornets would come back and tie it. It was tied 22-22 again when the Hornets made a few errors and the Battlers defense sealed the win.
“This was a nice way to finish the regular season and honor our three seniors,” stated Battle Lake Head Coach Jenny Roisum. “Morgan Malone, Anna Bellig, and Quinn Amundson each played a solid match tonight and have been good senior leaders. It hasn’t been an easy season but these girls never gave up. Thank you seniors!”
Malone finished with 5 kills and 9 digs. Amundson also had 9 digs and 2 blocks. Bellig added 5 kills and 5 digs. Kenady Cameron had a solid night with 9 kills, 8 digs, and went 17/20 serving. Sophie Akerman was 100% serving and dished out 24 assists.
The Battlers now wait to hear their seed in the 6A section tournament. The first round of the tournament will be next Monday.
