Tigers Build 32-0 Halftime Lead on the way to 46-14 Road Win Over CGB

Rothsay started their game fast in Graceville on Friday afternoon as they scored 32 first half points and led 32-0 over Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley at halftime.  Each team scored twice in the second half to put the final score at 46-14, Rothsay.

Karson Jensen scored four touchdowns on the night with runs of 11 yards and 75 yards in the first half, and runs of 80 yards and 8 yards in the second half.  Matthew Danielson hauled in an 11 yard touchdown pass from Karter Jensen and Carson Weiers caught a 43 yard TD pass from Karter Jensen.  Landon Messerschmidt picked off a pass and went 80 yards for a TD to complete the scoring for the Tigers.

“We played very well both ways today,” commented Head Coach Joel Meyer of Rothsay.  “It is great to see us playing our best football at the later stages of the season.  We are setting ourselves up well as we get closer to playoffs.”

Karson Jensen ran for 278 yards on 14 carries and Karter Jensen added 6 rushing attempts for 48 yards.  Karter was 2-for-3 throwing the football for 54 yards and 2 TD’s.    The Tigers finished with 367 rushing yards and 64 passing yards, for a total of 431 yards of offense.

Rothsay (4-3) will close out their regular season schedule with a game at home against Ortonville on Wednesday night.
