Jensen's Key Offensive Attack to Lead Tigers to 52-14 Win Over Chargers

Karson Jensen (25 carries, 189 yards, 2 TD’s) and Karter Jensen (11 carries, 105 yards) combined for 294 rushing yards to key a Rothsay offense that scored 52 points in a 52-14 win over Brandon-Evansville on Friday night.  Karter Jensen also completed 4-of-10 passes for 141 yards and 3 TD’s.

The two teams exchanged first quarter touchdowns with Rothsay holding a slim 16-14 lead after one quarter of play.  The Tigers struck first when Matthew Danielson hauled in a 75 yard TD pass from Karter Jensen.  Jensen then connected with Landon Messerschmidt on the two point conversion pass for an 8-0 Rothsay lead.  The Chargers responded with a 15 yard run by Micah Fuller and a two-point run by Ryland Yeats to tie the game at 8-8.  Rothsay took a 16-8 lead on a 50 yard TD run by Karson Jensen and a two point conversion run by Danielson.  The Chargers cut the lead to two points on an 11 yard pass from Fuller to Stephen Hamilton.

In the second quarter, Karter Jensen hit Danielson with a 25 yard TD pass and Karson Jensen scored the two point conversion run as the Tigers extended their lead to 24-14.  Rothsay made it 30-14 at halftime when Karter Jensen hit Messerschmidt with a 17 yard aerial.

Rothsay recorded a safety in the third quarter and added a 27 yard TD run and two point run by Karson Jensen for a 40-14 lead at the end of three.

In the fourth quarter, Karter Jensen hit Danielson with a 31 yard scoring toss and Preston Curtis scored on a six yard run.

Rothsay had 532 yards of total offense, gaining 374 on the ground and 158 through the air.  Brandon-Evansville was held to 66 yards rushing and 73 passing for a total of 139.

Danielson was the leading receiver for the Tigers with 3 catches for 131 yards.  All 3 receptions ended up in the end zone.  Karson Jensen had an interception for the Rothsay defense.

B-E was led by Micah Fuller with 6 completions on 10 attempts for 73 yards, Hamilton with 3 catches for 62 yards and Logan Haburn with 29 rushing yards on 8 carries.  Haburn led the defensive effort with 7.5 tackles (6 solo, 3 assisted) and Ben Seifert also was in on 7.5 tackles (7 solo, 1 assisted.  Solomon Wales picked off a pass for the Chargers.

Rothsay (3-3) will travel to Graceville on Friday to face CGB, while Brandon-Evansville (3-3) will host Bertha-Hewitt.
