Babolian Scores Twice as Otters Win in Roseau

Fergus Falls traveled to Roseau on Friday night where the Otters got off to a fast start and took a 26-0 lead after three quarters on the way to a 26-8 victory over the Rams.  With the win Fergus Falls improves to 2-4 on the season.  “It was very good to get one in the win column again tonight,” said Head Coach Steve Olson of the Otters.  “I thought we improved a lot and we are looking forward to next week with DGF.”

Brayden Nelson scored the first TD of the game on a 7 yard run and Levi King added the extra point for a 7—0 Fergus Falls lead in the first quarter.

Griffin Babolian scored a pair of second quarter touchdowns, the first one from 5 yards out and the second one from 16 yards.  King was successful on one of his two extra point tries and the Otters led 20-0 at the half. 

Nelson got in the end zone a second time on a 15 yard run and the Otters failed on their two-point attempt, keeping the score at 26-0 as the third quarter ended.

Roseau got their touchdown in the fourth quarter on a one yard run by Tucker Kvien.  They also converted their two-point try when Eli Wensloff connected with Christian Larson.

Nelson (11 carries, 126 yards) and Babolian (16 carries, 100 yards) each had 100 yard rushing nights for the Otters who finished with 240 yards rushing and 285 yards of total offense.  Nelson completed 4-of-8 passes for 45 yards.

Fergus Falls will host Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton on Friday night in their final home game of the season.
