Brandon-Evansville hosted Wheaton/Herman-Norcross in a Little Eight Conference volleyball match on Thursday night in Evansville with the Chargers recording a 3-0 (25-23, 25-10, 25-23) victory over the Warriors.

“Coming in we really wanted to try and finish each set strong,” reported B-E Head Coach Kelly Olson.  “We did an okay job of that, but are losing a little focus during sets that brings teams back into the set.  We do a good job of withstanding those runs and really limiting them to under three points tonight.  Our hitters attacked the block and our block did a good job of slowing them down.  We reached a few times in serve receive, but defensively we picked it up.  It was a good night for Charger volleyball.”

Brandon-Evansville heads to Marshall for a Friday and Saturday tournament.

The Warriors were led by Zaundra Determan (7 kills, 2 block assists), Brylie Schultz (6 kills, 10 digs, 9/9 serving, 2 aces), Emily Drewicke (14/15 serving, 1 ace, 6 digs), Jordyn Perry (8/8 serving, 1 ace, 9 set assists), Ashlyn McCalip (9 set assists) and Anna Bright (9 digs).

Wheaton/Herman-Norcross will play Henning Monday, Hancock on Tuesday and Rothsay on Thursday.
