Brandon-Evansville traveled to Sebeka on Tuesday for a non-conference volleyball match which the Chargers won in five sets, 25-22, 20-25, 21-25, 24-19, 15-8.  “We were hoping to build on our 3-2 win at Underwood and take positive steps towards the end of the season and playoffs,” said B-E Head Coach Kelly Olson.  “In some ways we did that.  Serving was good and getting our middle blockers involved more offensively happened for us.”

Kylee Dingwall, Gretchen Bredberg, Claire Boesl and Skylar Bitzan were all perfect on the serving line with Bitzan serving up two aces.

Defensive leaders were Dingwall and Taylor Suchy with 18 and 16 digs, respectively.  Grace Otto added 9 digs.  Bredberg had 2.5 blocks and Haddy Baune added 2 blocks at the net.

“Hadley Baune stepped into a starting middle role with EmmaLee being injured,” reported Olson.  “I wanted to see how we functioned as a unit with the lineup switch.  We also saw different players playing outside and right side hitters.  I really liked that they are versatile enough to play the game with different kids in different positions.  Defensively, we could have been better at the net and reading hitters in the back row.  The match seemed slow and segmented at times.  Neither team really got into a flow.  Much like our match in Underwood, we came out focused and extended our lead which led us to winning.”

The Chargers will host Wheaton/Herman-Norcross on Thursday in Evansville in a Little Eight Conference match.
