The Alexandria Cardinals Boys Soccer team hosted the St Cloud Tech Tigers on Tuesday evening for what exceeded expectations of the game. This match was the true definition of why we call this sport, the beautiful game. Both teams played so well with determination and focus. Passing was dialed in, movement off the ball was a thing of beauty, and while the lone goal came in the 73rd minute of play, it was a battle between the teams to the final whistle. The lone goal came from Jack Carlson who was assisted by Otto Anderson.
Gatorade of the Game went to two players this match. First to Erik Reineke, who focused in and fought for every possession battle he participated in. Next was Julian Ramos, who responded to the team's needs and relentlessly pursued the ball every minute of play.
Tonight we also had the opportunity to honor our 12sSenior players for their support of the program. Thank you to: Captain Bryce Paffrath, Dylan Hendricks, Dylan Kraker, Erik Reineke, Henry Ramstorf, Hunter Bollman, Jack Breitzman, Captain Jack Carlson, Nic Borden, Noah Pohlen, Captain Sam Faber and Tripp Shatek.
The Cardinals Boys Soccer team advances to 8-4-2 and will travel to Sartell this Thursday for a 5pm kick off.
