Warriors Go to 5-0 With 62-6 Win Over Bears

The Wheaton/Herman-Norcross football team accumulate 466 yards of total offense on the way to a 62-6 win over Bertha-Hewitt on Friday night.  The Warriors had 268 yards through the air and 198 on the ground, recording 20 first downs on the night.

Wheaton/Herman-Norcross scored 3 first quarter TD’s to open up a 21-0 advantage after one quarter.  Brayden Hofer got them on the board with a 16 yard run and Clint Determan added the extra point for a 7-0 lead.  Marshall Tolifson’s 4 yard run and another Determan kick made it 14-0 and Tolifson hit Grant Dawson with a 25 yard TD pass, followed by a Determan PAT kick to boost the lead to 21-0.

Four second quarter scores increased the Warriors lead to 49-0 at the half.  Hofer hauled in a 6-yard scoring toss from Tolifson and Jack Siegel caught a two-point conversion pass from Holden Rinke to put the score at 29-0.  Tolifson then connected with Tucker Blume on a 16 yard TD for a 35-0 lead.  Tolifson then hooked up with Dylan Bainbridge on a 53 yard pass play and Determan’s kick bumped the score to 42-0.  A 32 yard run by Hofer and a Determan kick completed the first half scoring.

Brody Nachbor found the end zone on a 5 yard run and Tucker Blume booted the extra point for a 56-0 lead for the Warriors.

Bertha-Hewitt scored their only points of the game on a 4 yard run in the fourth quarter and Wheaton/Herman-Norcross found the end zone one more time on an 8 yard run by Peyton Forcier.

Tolifson completed all 12 of his pass attempts for 208 yards and 4 touchdowns.  Hofer ran the ball 5 times for 143 yards and a pair of TD’s.  Bainbridge (3 receptions, 85 yards, TD), Blume (4 receptions, 60 yards, TD) and Determan (3 catches, 41 yards) were the leading receivers.

The Warriors (5-0) are on the road to face Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley on Friday, while Bertha-Hewitt (0-5) travels to Verndale to face the Pirates.
