Lady Warriors Win 3-of-4 Sets from Battle Lake

The Wheaton/Herman-Norcross Warriors defeated the Battle Lake Battlers Thursday night 3-1 (25-22, 27-29, 25-9, 25-20) in a Little Eight Conference volleyball match in Wheaton. 

 

The Warriors were led by Reagan Spilde (19/19 serving, 4 aces, 7 kills, 11 digs), Megyn Keelly (24/24 serving, 4 aces, 5 kills, 8 digs), Ashlyn McCalip (17/17 serving, 3 aces, 13 digs, 25 set assists), Emily Drewicke (18/18 serving, 9 digs), Jordyn Perry (13/14 serving, 16 set assists), Brylie Schultz (12 kills, 2 solo blocks, 4 block assists, 13 digs), Zaundra Determan (13 kills), Bria Lundquist (8 kills, 1 solo block, 3 block assists, 5 digs), Anna Bright (26 digs) and Madison Koch (7 kills).

“The Battlers put up a good fight,” said Head Coach Jenny Roisum.  “The girls’ kept it close in set one and the Battlers were able to take set 2 in extra points.  Set 3 was not clean but the Battlers were able to regroup and push the Warriors in set 4.  This was a fun match tonight and the Battlers played their best defense of the season.”

Kenady Cameron led the Battlers with 10 kills and 17 digs.  Quinn Amundson had 21 digs while Sophie Akerman had 15 digs and 25 assists.  Danica Byrne added 10 digs while Morgan Malone had 7 kills. 

The Battlers head to Barnesville on Saturday for their last tournament.
