Wheaton/Herman-Norcross remained unbeaten with a 36-14 win over previously unbeaten Hancock on Friday night in Wheaton.  The Warriors outscored the Owls 29-8 over the final two quarters after leading 7-6 at the half.

Bryant Callenius started the scoring in the first quarter with a 6 yard interception return for a touchdown and Clint Determan made it 7-0 with a successful extra-point kick.

Hancock found the end zone on a 15 yard run in the second quarter, but failed to convert the point after try and found themselves down 7-6 at halftime.

Wheaton/Herman-Norcross took a 15-6 lead on a third quarter TD pass that covered 20 yards from Marshall Tolifson to Dylan Bainbridge, and a two-point conversion run by Callenius.  The Warriors increased their lead to 23-6 when the Tolifson to Bainbridge connection hit again for a 9-yard score and Callenius once again ran the ball in for two points.

It was 30-6 early in the fourth quarter, following a one yard TD pass from Determan to Jack Siegel and a Determan PAT kick.  Hancock then scored on a 25-yard pass and a successful two-point try to pull to within 30-14, however, a one yard run by Grant Dawson put the final score at 36-14 in favor of the home team.

Wheaton/Herman-Norcross finished with 316 (189 passing, 127 rushing) total yards.  They were led on the ground by Tolifson with 47 yards on 14 carries and Brayden Hofer with 10 attempts for 45 yards.  Tolifson completed 11-of-20 passes for 188 yards and two TD’s.  Determan (5 receptions, 108 yards) and Bainbridge (4 receptions, 67 yards, 2 TD’s) were his top receivers.  Defensively, Dawson had a team high 7 tackles and recorded one of the Warriors 4 sacks.  Jack Siegel, Nathan Johnson and Kevin Casper each recorded a sack in the contest.  Holden Rinke recovered a fumble for the Warriors.

Hancock had 248 total yards, 225 passing and 23 on the ground.  No individual stats have been reported at this time.

The Warriors have a road game at Bertha-Hewitt on Friday, while Hancock hosts Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley.
