“We had another fantastic week of prep for a very good Osakis team,” commented Barnesville Head Coach Bryan Strand.  “Offensively they do many great things with a stellar backfield and a big experienced offensive line.  We actually went to two a days this week just to better prepare for them.  Last year we lost in triple overtime and that sat with us, and we weren't going to let that happen again.”

Ethan Larson took the opening kickoff 89 yards for a touchdown and Owen Riddle ran the two point conversion into the end zone as Barnesville jumped out to an 8-0 lead.  A 51 yard TD run by John Roller and a two-point run by Roller increased the scored to 16-0, and the first quarter ended with a 22-0 lead on the board for Barnesville after Zachary Bredman delivered an 8 yard scoring toss to Braeden Bredman.

Osakis scored their lone TD in the second quarter on a one yard run by Tyson Hagedon.  Hagedon also scored the two-point conversion as Osakis cut the led to 22-8.  They would get no closer.

Barnesville scored a pair of third quarter touchdowns with Braeden Bredman scoring on a 43 yard run and Roller scoring on a run of 40 yards.  Jonny Robideau ran the ball in for the two-point conversion following the Roller TD and Barnesville led 36-8 after three quarters.

In the fourth quarter, Ayden Hauck found the end zone on a 4-yard run and Carlos Esteban kicked the extra point for a 43-8 lead.  Gannon Bolgrean’s 2 yard TD run and Nathan Huesman’s two-point run, ended the scoring with the final score reading 51-8.

“The boys are playing with a ton of confidence at this point and they realize their hard work in the offseason is really paying off,” noted Coach Strand.  “Many guys stepped up for us tonight, we had 11 different guys carry the ball and we averaged 10.7 yards per carry, that is great for the backs but it shows the strength of our offensive line.”

Roller led the Trojans running game with 129 yards on 8 carries.  Bolgrean had 4 touches for 67 yards and Braeden Bredman finished with 57 yards on just 3 carries. 

Leaders defensively were Peyton Amundson (5 solo tackles, 4 assisted tackles, 1 fumble recovery, 1 sack), Jonny Robideau (7 solo tackles, 3 assisted tackles), Braeden Bredman (5 solo tackles, 1 assisted tackle, 2 tipped passes), and Jordan Kroll and Austin Bolgrean combined on a sack.

“Still thru four games no team has rushed for 100 yards on us, which speaks huge for the defense,” added Strand.  “Peyton Amundson had easily his best varsity game on Friday night, he continues to improve week after week.  Logan Yeske didn't get in a ton of plays but he pressured the QB a ton and just did his job forcing play after play back inside to the linebackers.  Jonny Robideau had his best game to date at linebacker, plus he picked up a fumbled two point conversion and ran it in for a score.”  

The Trojans have Pillager this week for homecoming and then travel to Detroit Lakes to take on the undefeated Lakers.  “We have had a very hard schedule to date and beaten some very good teams, Osakis 3-1, WCA 3-1, Pelican Rapids 3-1 and Crookston is now at 2-2,” concluded Strand.  “Pillager just picked up their first win this past Friday vs Staples and sits at 1-3.”
