Pederson Scores 3 Times as Cowboys Top Rockets 42-0

The Breckenridge football team held a 7-0 lead after one quarter, led 28-0 at the half and disposed of Underwood 42-0, adding TD’s in the third and fourth quarter.  The Cowboys had 338 yards of total offense with 307 of it coming on the ground.  Underwood managed 178 yards (73 passing, 105 rushing).

Gavin Pederson got the scoring started with a 3-yard TD run and the extra-point kick by Gusten Bergkvist Ericksson made the score 7-0.  Bailey Evans carried the ball over the goal line form one yard out and Ericksson added another PAT kick for a 14-0 advantage.  Evans then completed a 17 yard TD pass to Landon Blaufuss with just 54 seconds left in the half.  Eriksson made it 21-0 after another PAT kick.  Pederson struck with a one yard TD run with 13 seconds left and an Eriksson kick put the score at 28-0.

Second half touchdowns came on a 3 yard run by Pederson and an Eriksson PAT kick with 5:42 left in the third quarter, and a 62 yard run by Alex Martel at 10:21 of the fourth quarter.  Eriksson finished a perfect kicking night by nailing his sixth straight.

Evans completed 2-of-3 passes for 31 yards and a touchdown.  The leading rusher for the Cowboys was Pederson with 117 yards on 18 carries and 3 TD’s.  Alex Sanchez ran for 86yard son 15 carries.

For Underwood, Noah Link was 5-for-8 throwing the football for 73 yards.  Blayre Lundbgren had 47yards on 4 attempts.  Conner Nelson was on the receiving end of two catches for 45 yards.  Defensive leaders for the Rockets were Alex Tschakert with 6 solo tackles and Dallen Ernst with 4 solo tackles and two assisted tackles.

Breckenridge (2-2) will host Roseau on Friday, September 30 at 6:00pm and Underwood (0-4) will host Frazee in a 7:00pm kickoff that night.
