The West Central Area volleyball team started the second round of play in the West Central Conference with a match in Sauk Centre against the Mainstreeters.  Sauk Centre posted a 3-0 (25-22, 25-18, 25-19) win over the lady Knights in three competitive sets.

“We started off a little slow and we found ourselves clawing our way back into the match late,” said WCA Head Coach Missy Foslien.  “We made a great effort, our girls didn’t give up, and we had some momentum going into set two.  We made some great defensive plays and forced them to make the errors.  We hit the ball aggressively, but in the end it’s hard to beat height.  Not that it’s impossible, and our team know they could do it, we just came up short in each set.”

The Knights were led by Mya Foslien (11/12 serving, 13 digs, 11 kills, 1 block), Macy Grosz (26 set assists, 11 digs, 11/11 serving), Whitney Westrom (9/10 serving, 11 digs, 5 kills), Madelyn Westrom (9/9 serving, 8 digs, 2 kills, 1 block), Izzy Puchalski (7/8/ serving, 3 digs, 2 kills, 1 block), Addison Staples (5/7 serving, 1 ace, 5 digs, 9 kills) and Alaina Sykora (8 digs).

West Central Area (9-3) will participate in the Parkers Prairie Tournament on Saturday.
