The Alexandria Cardinal Boys’ Soccer team traveled up I-94 and then some to take on the East Grand Forks Green Wave in a section matchup. The Cardinals showed their strength and depth throughout the entire match.

With the majority of the match controlled by the Cardinals, they were still only able to find one goal in the first half. In the 29th minute of play, Otto Anderson sent a pass on the ground to allow Tripp Shatek an opportunity to finish. This left the score at the usual for this season, 1-0 at half.

The scoring opened up in the second half as the ball was controlled almost entirely by the Cardinals. The following goals were added:

  • Jack Carlson, assist from Cole Haabala in the 61st minute
  • Dylan Kraker, assist from Bryce Paffrath in the 73rd minute
  • Samuel Diaz, unassisted in the 78th minute

The Gatorade of the Game went to Samuel Diaz for finding his first varsity goal and playing hard and fast every minute he was on the pitch.

The Cardinal Boys Soccer team advances 6-2-2 on the season and will travel to Brainerd for a 7pm kickoff this Thursday.
