Brandon-Evansville had a good day at the Browerville Volleyball Tournament this past Saturday.  “Saturday we traveled to Browerville to play in a pretty tough tournament,” said Brandon-Evansville Head Coach Kelly Olson.  “Looking at the teams there we knew it was going to be a rough day if we couldn't focus on the court.  We started off with New York Mills.  We did a good job from the serving line and not making unforced errors.”

The Chargers won in 2 sets (25-18, 25-23) against the Eagles. Next up was Verndale.  “Verndale had the ability to keep the ball in play and put us on the defensive,” said Olson. “They served very tough and had a big swing on the outside. Losing the first set put us in a big hole, but we rallied to win the second and third sets.  It was a grinding match with both of the first two going extra points.  It was a good team win.”  Set scores were 24-26, 31-29, 15-7.  The last pool match was against Browerville.  “We again went three sets after losing the first and winning the second.  They jumped out to a quick lead in the third and we just couldn't get it back.”  Set scores were 21-25, 25-22, 7-15.  “Taking second in our pool matched us up with CGB.  It was good to play them again as we had lost to them earlier this year.  The final match again went three sets.  Each team was pretty gassed, but we found a little more to get through the match winning 19-25, 25-19, 15-12.  Good day overall and we are looking forward to hosting Hillcrest on Tuesday and Park Christian on Thursday.”
