The Border West Buccaneers competed in the event, but did not have enough varsity runners to field a full team in either race.

“LPGE is a tough course due to the terrain and hills,” said Border West Head Coach Brittany Erickson.  “A lot of our runners were still sore from Milbank this past weekend, so we didn't see a lot of fast times.  It was nice to see a good chunk of our section and find out where we were. Karissa Anderson was on the border for getting a ribbon and turned the jets for the last half mile to place 7th.   Liz Franzese missed the top 10 by one in her JV race.  Joe Arens and Derek Lupkes were sitting 10 and 11 at the mile marker before going up their monster hill.  Joe finished 13th overall, three spots from a medal.  Julia Schmidt pulled away from the second pack of runners throughout the race and medaled for 5th.  We are off for two weeks where we plan on recovering and then start ramping up for the second half of the season.”
