Wheaton/Herman-Norcross jumped to a 41-0 halftime lead and went on to record a 47-6 victory over Brandon-Evansville on Friday night.  “Wheaton/Herman-Norcross is a complete team,” said B-E Head Coach Daniel Johnson. “They present strength, speed, and aggressiveness at every position. They are very efficient within their scheme. It will be difficult for anyone to beat that team.”

Marshall Tolifson connected on four touchdown passes to four different receivers and scored a rushing touchdown to lead the Warriors.  The scoring started when he hit Dylan Bainbridge with a 12-yard scoring toss with 9:32 left in the first quarter.  Six minutes later Bryant Callenius was on the receiving end of a 21-yard TD pass.  Both extra points were successful and the Warriors led 14-0 at the end of the first quarter.

In the second quarter Clint Determan hauled in a 14-yard pass from Tolifson and the PAT failed, leaving the Warriors with a 20-0 lead.  At 8:18 of the second, Determan picked off a pass and went 45 yards for the score.  After the PAT kick, the Warriors held a 27-0 lead.  A one-yard TD run by Tolifson and an extra point kick made the score 34-0. Tolifson then delivered a 5-yard pass to Brody Nachbor with 5:01 left in the half, putting the halftime score at 41-0.

In the third quarter, Brayden Hofer scored on an 18-yard run, giving WHN a 47-0 lead.

The lone Chargers TD can when Colton Breitkrutz hauled in a 44-yard pass from Bryce Froemming with just 23 second to play, making the final score 47-6.

“We saw some improvements in our defense this week,” reported Coach Johnson. “We were better with tackling in space and we were better in our block defeats. We did see improvements in some of our first game blocking miscues throughout the practice week but it did not show up in this game enough. We will continue to emphasize these issues and hopefully it leads to greater offensive output sooner rather than later. We had some special teams’ issues in this game that gave Wheaton/Herman-Nocross a very short field and that needs to be addressed this week as well.”

Brandon-Evansville will host Sebeka on Friday at 7:00pm.
