Brandon-Evansville traveled to Parkers Prairie on Thursday night hoping to get a win in their Little Eight Conference match with the Panthers. “We knew that Parkers has a lot of good players and we would need to play very well to have a chance to stick with them,” said B-E Head Coach Kelly Olson. “Coming out on top with a 3-0 (25-18, 25-19, 25-18) win was a very nice surprise.”
Olson added, “I thought we did a good job tonight of taking care of the ball both in serve receive and serving. We did miss a few too many but very few were on the first or second serve of that player. We had nice runs from the serving line. We also did a good job of taking advantage of their free ball opportunities. Without seeing game stats I can only say we were efficient. Defensively and blocking at the net were also better for us tonight. Overall the players did a great job focusing and playing within themselves.”
Leaders for Brandon-Evansville were Gretchen Bredberg (11/12 serving, 1 ace, 5 kills, 1 solo block), Courtney Brethorst (13/14 serving, 1 ace), Kylee Dingwall (14/14 serving, 5 kills, 2 solo blocks, 9 digs), EmmaLee Brethorst (10/12 serving, 1 ace, 5 kills), Taylor Suchy (10 digs), Sydney Schaefer (19 set assists) and Grace Otto (6 digs).
The Chargers will travel to Browerville for an Invitational on Saturday.
