Six different players found the end zone for Wheaton/Herman-Norcross on Friday night as they handled Ortonville to the tune of 69-6 in the high school football opener for both teams.

Marshall Tolifson scored the first two touchdowns on runs of 10 and 3 yards, respectively, and then hit Clint Determan with a 25 yard TD pass and Grant Dawson with a 10 yard scoring toss before Determan delivered a pick-six that covered 29 yards.  With Determan going 5-for-5 on PAT kicks in the quarter, the Warriors build a 35-0 advantage.

It was more of the same in the second quarter as Brayden Hofer went 43 yards with an interception, Determan hauled in a 72 yard pass from Tolifson, Kevin Casper was on the receiving end of a 4 yard TD pass from Tolifson, and Holden Rinke hit Andrew Walker with a 15-yard touchdown pass.  Determan added two more PAT kicks and Tolifson ran in a two-point conversion try as the Warriors took a 63-0 lead into the locker room.

Following a scoreless third quarter, Brody Nachbor ran the ball in from 5 yards out for a 69-0 Wheaton/Herman-Norcross lead.

Ortonville’s lone TD came on a 4 yard run to put the final at 69-6.

The Warriors had 356 (133 passing, 223 rushing) yards of total offense, compared to 141 (39 passing, 102 rushing) for the Trojans.

Tolifson completed 5-of-6 passes for 118 yards and four scores.  Nachbor finished with 9 carries for 114 yards and Determan was the leading receiver with 2 catches for 97 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Ortonville will host Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley next Friday, while the Warriors travel to face Brandon-Evansville in Brandon.
