The Brandon-Evansville volleyball team opened their season at home Monday night against Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley.  The Wolverines won the first set, but B-E pulled even with a win in set number two.  CGB won the final two sets to secure a 3-1 road win over the Chargers.

“Our serve receive passing led to a couple of quick kills from Kylee Dingwall to begin the set, but trouble behind the service line quickly changed the momentum of the game in favor of CGB,” said Brandon-Evansville Head Coach Kelly Olson.  “After a dropped first set, Kendal Hoidahl, Gretchen Bredberg, and Courtney Brethorst were able to string together several serves to give us a lead that carried through to tie up the series.  Sets three and four brought with them much of the same struggles behind the service line, along with difficulty blocking.  While we scrambled on several plays to keep the ball alive, ultimately, we gave CGB too many chances.  It is a matter of focusing for the entire match and not when it is easy.  We look forward to correcting the mistakes tomorrow in our next match.”

Tuesday night the Chargers will be back on their home floor, hosting Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg at 7:15pm.
