The West Central Area cross country teams had a decent showing at Vintage Golf Course on Monday with finishes of 6th and 5th for boys and girls teams, respectively. The link to the results is: https://www.mtecresults.com/event/show/4511/
Eli Bergman led the boys’ team with a 5K time of 19:25 and placed 19th overall. “I've been very impressed with his leadership so far this year, and he is building on successes that he had last year,” commented Head Coach Austin Hanson of the Knights.
Taylor Bennett led the girls’ team with a time of 21:47 and is hoping to have a standout year after taking a year off last season. “She has been looking incredible in practice, and always has a smile that goes with her positive attitude,” noted Coach Hanson.
Hanson continued, “I thought both teams ran very well! We had some new runners that are just getting their feet wet and we looked a bit tired, but we will recover and run hard at Breckenridge this Thursday. I think with more experience and hard work the next few weeks our legs will start popping. There was fantastic competition and the weather was great. An awesome way to start out a new XC season!”
