The Hancock football team claimed their third straight District title last season with a perfect 8-0 regular season record, finishing 8-1 on the season.  The Owls return a solid nucleus of starters and letter winners to challenge for a fourth straight District championship.  Head Coach Chad Christianson says Wheaton/Herman-Norcross is the main challenger to the Owls.  In Section 2 9-Man, Christianson looks to Renville County West as the favorite.

Seniors Davin Rose (QB/DB), Dain Schroeder (FB/LB), Jackson Koehl (WR/LB) and Weston Nohl (OL/DL), junior Hudson Ver Steeg (OL/DL) and sophomores Chase Evink (RB/LB) and Levi Kellenberger (OL/DL) are returning starters for the Owls.

“We have a good core group of our team coming back from last season, so we are hoping to rely on that experience throughout the year,” stated Coach Christianson.  “We lost some crucial pieces from last years’ team, but look to have athletes ready to step up and fill those gaps.  Seven of our potential starters are looking to start for their second year or more, so we are looking forward to seeing these players take the next step this season.”

Senior Jared Koehl (WR/DB) and juniors Donovan Curfman (WR/DB), Titus Bjerketvedt (WR/DB), Ralphy Algarate (OL/DL), Ryland Meierding (WR/LB), Braden Kisgen (WR/DB), Matt Alsagson (OL/DL) and Ely Rinkenberger (OL/DL) are expected to contribute at the varsity level.

Rounding out the coaching staff are Assistants Ryan Snyder, Matt Nesvig, Cory Bedel, Derrick Foss, Brendon Foss and Tim Nesvig.
