A year ago the Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton volleyball team ended their season with a 17-12 record. Mallory Leitner was lost from that team and is continuing her volleyball career at Concordia College in Moorhead. Two returning starters will form the nucleus for the 2022 team, seniors Peyton Backes (Outside Hitter) and Madison Schmitt (Libero). They will serve as captains for Tessa Tysver as she enters her fifteenth season as Head Coach of the Rebels.
“We will be a strong serving and blocking team,” said Coach Tysver. “We need to focus on first ball contact consistency.”
Seniors Lindsey Nevala (Setter), Kaleigh Peterson (Right Side), McKayla Winter (Right Side), and Lucy Hilton (Defensive Specialist), junior Lailah Fuss (Middle Hitter), sophomores McKayla Bjelland (Outside Hitter) and Maddy Iwen (Setter), and freshman Aria Garrett (Middle Hitter) will be competing for varsity court time.
Tysver will be assisted by Andrea Anderson (JV), Steph Hanson (B) and Serina Hanson (C). She points to Perham and Hawley as the top teams in the Heart O’ Lakes Conference.
