The Breckenridge Cowboys are coming off a 6-5 season on the gridiron and have a solid nucleus of returning athletes to lead them in 2022 as Head Coach Chad Fredericksen begins his sixteenth season at the helm. Fredericksen will be assisted by Jordan Christensen, Carson Yaggie, Easton Erbes and Joel Herder.
“We have a number of players back from last years’ Section runner-up team with a lot of experience,” noted Coach Fredericksen.
Returning starters include seniors Landon Blaufuss (OL/LB), Dallen Ernst (OL/DL), Cam Nieto (RB/DB), Alex Sanchez (RB/LB), Gavin Pederson (RB/LB), Dylan Bernotas (WR/DB) and Alex Tschakert (WR/LB), junior Bailey Evans (QB/DB) and sophomore Eli Butts (OL/DL).
The Cowboys will also be expecting Jacob Kunkel (WR/DB) and Brian Martinez (FB/DL) to step up and contribute at the varsity level.
Fredericksen sees New York Mills and Ottertail Central as the teams to beat in Section 6A, with OTC, Pelican Rapids and Hawley the favorites in the District.
