The season ended for American Legion Post 30 of Fergus Falls on Thursday with a 1-0 loss in an elimination game in the District Tournament in Moorhead.  “We played well, but couldn’t find the big hit to turn the tide,” commented Head Coach Trevor Larson of Post 30.

Carston Fronning started on the mound (6IP, 4H, 1R, 8K) and did everything he could to will Post 30 to victory, throwing a complete game.

Both teams played good defense and had stellar pitching in the contest.  Each team also threatened with runners on in the early frames, but couldn’t push anything across.  The game remained scoreless until the bottom of the sixth when East Grand Forks scored their lone run off an infield hit and a double.

“Tough game to lose,” said Larson.  “Fronning was on today and gave us every opportunity to win the game, but we couldn’t string together much offensively.  We hit a few balls hard, but couldn’t find any holes.  I want to thank our seniors, Andrew Johnson, Carter Thielke and Owen Krueger for all their hard work and leadership over the years.  I also want to thank everyone at the Legion, including their members who make everything happen for us.  Without their amazing willingness to meet our every need, we wouldn’t be able to play the great game of baseball.  Hats off to everyone at the Legion.  We thank them for a wonderful year!”
