OTC 15U Team Opens District Play with Two Wins

The Ottertail Central 15U Babe Ruth Baseball Team opened District Tournament play in Evansville on Thursday with a pair of wins, defeating PRBA Red 10-0 and beating the Fergus Falls 14’s by the score of 4-2.

Ayden Olson shut down PRBA Red, throwing a complete game shutout.  Olson went six innings, allowing three hits and zero runs while striking out six batters and walking none.

Owen Harig went 2-for-3 at the plate with a triple and a run batted in to lead OTC.  Singles by Kaleb Hammes, Garrett Kuhn-Rice and Conner Thompson highlighted a 3-run fifth inning for OTC.

The Bulldogs got things going in the first inning of their game with Fergus Falls as Kale Misegades knocked in a run with a base hit.  Conner Thompson, Gavin Pausch, Misegades, Drew Evavold and Owen Harig each had one hit in the game.

Eric Fick (7IP, 5H, 2R, 2K) earned the victory on the mound.  Micah Johnson (4IP, 3R, 4H, 3K) took the loss for Fergus Falls.

OTC will move on in the winners’ bracket and play against Parkers Prairie at 6:30pm Friday in Evansville with the winner of that game advancing to the state tournament.
