Both teams were strong on the mound Monday, but the Ottertail Central 13U Dawgs defeated Rothsay 15U by the score of 3-2.  Ottertail Central pitchers allowed just three hits to Rothsay.  Dawson Bushman (2.2IP, 2H, 2R, 6K) toed the rubber for OTC.

Trinity Baker and Jack Robinson each had a pair of hits for Ottertail Central.  Baker was the winning pitcher as the Dawgs won in walk-off fashion in the bottom of the seventh.

In the sixth inning OTC was trailing 2-1 when Landon Leitch laid down a bunt to score Robinson, tying the game.  In the bottom of the seventh William Schwartz drew a lead-off walk, stole second base and moved to third on a wild pitch.  Max Grove also earned a walk and stole second base.  With only one out and two men in scoring positions the Dawgs attempted a squeeze bunt.  The action forced a wild pitch and the winning run crossed the plate.

OTC completed their regular season with a record of 8-12 and a league record of 3-3, taking fourth seed in the District Tournament which begins on Thursday in Alexandria.  The Dawgs will face Parkers Prairie at 3:00pm.  No matter how they district tourney goes for them they will compete in the State Tournament since OTC is the host team.  The Dawgs will host the State Tourney at both Henning and Battle Lake on July 21 and 22, and then on the 23rd and 24th the only site will be Henning.  If you are able and willing to volunteer to help please contact Ryan Hendrickson at rhendrickson@underwood.k12.mn.us.
