The two teams tied for the lead in the Countryside League squared off in Breckenridge on Saturday with the host Bucks gaining a split with Fergus Falls.  The Canes prevailed in game one, 6-3, but the Bucks took the nightcap 1-0.

In game one, Fergus Falls broke a 2-2 tie with a 3-run sixth inning.  Two-out RBI singles by Arik Heacox and Thomas Bosek and an infield error led to the runs.  Alex Hensch added an insurance run with a solo homer leading off the seventh.  Heacox (2-3, 2R, RBI) led the Canes at the plate.  Alex Hexum (7IP, 7K, 2BB, 6H, 2ER) improved his season record to 2-0 on the mound.

Mitch Porter (6IP, 2K, 4BB, 5H, 5R, 3ER) took the loss for the Bucks.  Jack Hiedeman (2-4, SB) led Breckenridge offensively.

Hunter Wamre (7IP, 3H, 0R, 5K, 3BB) tossed a 3-hit gem in game two.  Offensive leaders were Mitch Porter (2-3, RBI) and Chris Nieto (2-2, R).  Erik Hiedeman added a single in three at bats.  An error, a wild pitch and a single by Porter scored the only run of the game in the fourth inning.

Fergus Falls was led by Sean McGuire (2-4, 2B) and Carter Thielke (1-3, 2SB).

Breckenridge will play at Starbuck on Wednesday and will then play the Canes in Fergus Falls on Sunday at 3:00pm.
