It was an exciting day for several Fergus Falls Boy Track and Field athletes on Wednesday. On the track it was mostly prelims to qualify for finals on Day 2, Saturday, June 4.  Full and Live results can be found at live.herostiming.com.

The Otters had two boys advance in the 100 meter dash, Owen Babolian and Isaac Job

“Half of the field events happened for both genders today and they were finals for advancement to the state meet,” said Fergus Falls Head Coach Derek Meyer. “Today we had competitors in Triple Jump, Shot Put and Pole Vault. After all final attempts we had a state qualifier in each event.”

Shane Zierden placed 2nd in the Triple Jump with a new personal best of 41-8.25. Alex Jensen was the winner in Shot Put with a season best of 54-1.50 and a new meet record, and Jordan Lee was the winner in the Pole Vault with a new school record of 14-3 and also a new meet record.

“We had an excellent first day of competition and will look to build on this success coming into Saturday,” added Coach Meyer. “I am so excited for our state qualifiers and look to build that roster soon. The hard work is paying off for these boys and they will get to see how they stack up against the best in the state.”
