Fergus Falls jumped to an 11-0 lead after three innings on Sunday as the Canes defeated Kensington 14-3 in an Amateur baseball contest in Kensington.  Fergus Falls finished with 15 hits in the game.  Alex Hexum (4IP, 8 K, 0BB, 4H, 3R, 0ER) gave the Canes a solid performance on the mound to earn the victory in relief of starter Eric Salveson (2IP, 1, 4K) who worked the first two innings. Dan Revering (1IP, 0H, 1K) finished the game.

Fergus Falls took a 4-0 lead in the second. Darin Stanislawski led off with a single and was forced at second by Hexum.  Revering then singled Hexum to second base and Aric Heacox delivered a 2-run double.  Salveson then brought Heacox home with a base hit and after a single by Carter Thielke and a walk to Alex Hensch loaded the bases, Tosten Mann’s infield single scored Salveson with the fourth run of the inning.

The Canes added seven more runs in the third on 3 hits, two hit batters, four walks and an error.  The big hit was a 2-run double by Hensch.  Four runs scored on bases loaded walks.

A 3-run sixth made the score 14-0.  Hensch knocked in two runs with a triple and scored on a base hit by Mann.

The Norsemen scored all three of their unearned run in the bottom of the sixth on a 2-run double by Justin Cummins and a RBI single by Isaiah Sykora.

The Canes were led by Hensch (3-4, 2B, 3B, 2R, 4RBI), Mann (2-4, R, 2RBI) and Heacox (1-3, 2B, BB, HBP, R, 3RBI).

The Canes will host a double header against the Dent Wildcats on Sunday, June 5, beginning at 1:30pm.
