Fergus Falls traveled to Sauk Rapids for a Central Lakes Conference double header on Monday.  The Storm won 2-0 in game one and 13-3 in game two.  The games were only five innings long as the teams agreed on the length of games prior to the first pitch of the opener.

Ben Swanson (4IP, 4BB, 0K, 2R, 1ER, 3H) kept the Otters in the game, but Fergus Falls struggled to get base runners in the first game.

Owen Krueger’s infield single was the lone hit for the Otters in game one.  Of the 15 Fergus Falls outs, eleven were by strikeout.

“We have to do a better job of putting the ball in play with two strikes,” said Head Coach Kevin Pearson.  “We need to make the defense at least make a play.”

Two big innings sealed the Otters fate in game two as the Storm scored three in the first and seven more in the second.

“It’s hard to come back when you dig such a big hole early in the game,” stated Coach Pearson.

Carston Fronning was the leading hitter, collecting a single and a double.  Carter Thielke and Colin Becker had the other Otter hits.  Isaac Johnson drew a pair of walks and Andrew Johnson stole a base.

The Otters play at Perham on Tuesday.
