Perham Scores 35 Runs in Pair of Saturday Wins

Perham won a pair of baseball games Saturday, beating Esko 17-2 and defeating Duluth East 18-6.  Perham had 13 hits and capitalized on four Esko errors in their first game of the day.  In the win over Duluth East, Perham delivered 16 hits and once again took advantage of four errors.

Hitting leaders against Esko were Logan Pulju (3-5, HR, 5RBI, 3R), Gamble Bye (3-4, 2B, 2R, BB, SB), Blaiz Schmidt (1-4, HR, RBI, 2R, BB), Mason Schepper (1-3, 3RBI, 2R), Austin Aanenson (1-4, 2R) and Chas Melvin (1-5, RBI, 2R, BB).  Melvin (5IP, 4H, 2ER, 6K, 5BB) was the winning pitcher for the Yellowjackets.  Joey Antonetti knocked in both Esko runs with a base hit.

Top hitters in the game against Duluth East were Aanenson (3-6, 4RBI, 2R), Melvin (3-5, 2 2B, RBI, 2R, BB), Ben Shumansky (3-4, 2RBI, BB), Rian Solberg (2-4, HR, 3RBI, R), Gage Germolus (2-5, 2 2B, 2RBI, 2R) and Pulju (2-4, 2RBI).  Pulju (5IP, 5R, 3ER, 5H, 4BB, 1K) was the winning pitcher for Perham.
