Otter Boys Finish 4th at Legacy

The Fergus Falls Boys Golf team competed in a CLC meet at the Legacy course hosted by Brainerd on Monday.  "The boys continued to show improvement on a difficult course and on an extremely windy day," commented Head Coach Matt McGovern of the Otters. 

The boys finished in 4th place after firing an impressive score of 323  Alexandria won the event with a 308 followed by Brainerd with a 312 and Sartell with a 320.  Willmar finished behind the Otters with a team score of 344.  

Individually the Otters were led by Sophomore Riley McGovern with a 76.  That score was good enough to place 3rd overall in the 48 player event.  Ryan Nelson continued his good play with a 79 and a 7th place finish.  Charlie Fuder showed some grit shooting an 80 which included an impressive 2 under par on his final 9 holes.  Charlie finished 11th overall.  Rounding out the scoring for the Otters was Gavin Goepferd with an 88.  Other scores include Adam Kennedy (96) and Sam Dirkman (102). 

The Otters will enjoy a week of practice with their next competition on Monday of next week at Geneva Golf Club in Alexandria.
