Very windy conditions made golfing difficult on Saturday as the Alexandria girls’ golf team hosted an invitational at Geneva Golf Club.  The Cardinals won the event with a score or 329, 10 strokes better than Maple Grove (339).  The number two Maple Grove team was third with a 354 and St. Michael-Albertville was fourth with a 362.  Fifth place went to Elk River (364).

“As one might expect, the scores were a little higher than players are used to shooting,” commented Alexandria Head Coach Timothy Zupfer.  “We had 3 players finish in the top ten to make the all-tournament team.”

Hanna Boraas was the medalist with a season best 75.  Lauren Rebrovich tied for fifth with an 82 and Cora Larson came in eighth with an 83.  Ellie Sticha rounded out the team scoring with an 89.

Other Alexandria scores from the meet included a 96 from Aisling O’Connor, a 97 from Rachel Bowen, a 100 from Isabella Hagen, a 101 from Teryn Jaworski and a 115 from Grace Herzog.

The lady Cards have a busy week ahead with meets on Monday at Blackberry Ridge, Thursday at the St. Cloud Country Club and Friday at Rich Springs.  All of these events are conference meets, with Friday’s tournament doubling as the Pre-Section Meet.
