The Ashby/Brandon-Evansville boys’ and girls’ track and field teams participated in the Minnewaska Area Invite on Tuesday in Glenwood. “"We were a bit shorthanded today at the meet, but it was great to get outside to a meet with some really nice weather,” stated Ashby/Brandon-Evansville Head Coach Zach Traphagen. “We had some athletes really stand out today in a really competitive field of teams. Going against this type of competition is going to make us better in the future."
Lucea Wales led the girls with first place finishes in the 200 meter dash and the triple jump, along with a runner-up finish in the 300 meter hurdles.
Kian Gackle had the top boys’ performance with fourth place finishes in the high jump and the long jump.
