OTC Track and Field Athletes Win 3 Events at UCB Booster Meet

The Ottertail Central Bulldogs were one of the 12 teams in Hawley competing at the UCB Booster meet. The Bulldogs came away with 3 event wins along with a new school record.

Grace VanErp was a part of all 3 wins for the Bulldogs, jumping 16-09.50 in the long jump, 37-07.50 in the triple jump, and anchored the 4x200 made along with Erika Heibel, Ally Hart, Kinley Bormann that won in a time of 1:52.94. VanErp closed out her day with a 28.87 200 dash time in 3rd. Ally Hart also had top 3 finishes in the 100 hurdles running 17.72 and the 300 hurdles running 50.83. Bormann ran a 1:08.19 to take 5th in the 400.

A new event for the Bulldogs this year is the pole vault. 7th grader Avaya Condiff and senior Ava Carlson both cleared 5 feet to tie for the school record. Kallyn Grove won her heat of the 800 and placed 8th over in a season best time of 2:44. Nora Froslee finished 4th in the 2 mile running 13:19. 

The boys 4x800 of Blake Alonzo, Jonas Hagemeister, Isaac Scherfenberg, and Brian Poser placed 3rd, in a season best 9:12.28.  The same relay team took 3rd in the 4x400 with another season best of 3:55.57. Scherenberg, Hagemeister and Aiden Heggem then went 3,4,6 in the 400m dash in times of 57.94, 58.50 and 59.20 respectively. Alonzo also placed 8th in the open 800.

Peter Newark ran the mile in 5:12 for 5th place and doubled back with a 20 second personal best in the two mile running 11:06 for 6th place.

The Bulldogs will look to build off this meet as they head to Sebeka on May 3rd  and Pelican on May 5th.
