Rothsay and Ashby battled in a softball double header on Thursday with the Tigers winning game one 10-0 and the Arrows taking a 7-6, 9-inning contest in game two.

“We jumped out to an early lead in game one and played good defense behind pitcher Katie Reber,” noted Rothsay Head Coach Anita Heier.  “Katie pitched a great game, allowing no hits in 5 innings of work.  We played with a lot of energy and confidence in the first game.  I thought we hit the ball well in the second game, but Ashby made some great defensive plays as we stranded ten runners on base in the game.  We continue to grow and improve in this early part of the season.”

Madison Tillman had a big day, picking up 3 hits, including a double, and driving in two runs in the first game, and contributing 3 hits, including a triple and a home run to go along with 3 more runs batted in in game two.  Tillman’s game two homer came with a runner on bases and two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning, sending the Tigers to extra innings  Elli Meyer had two hits in each game.  Abby Honer delivered a double and one RBI in the first game, while Kenadi Carlsrud had a hit and two RBI in game two.
