Frazee jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the top of the first inning on the way to a ten-run win in six innings. Leaders for Pelican Rapids were Hazel Haugrud (1-3, R, RBI, BB) and Kia Nelson (3BB, 2R).
In game two, Frazee broke a 1-1 tie with two runs in the fourth, tacked on three in the fifth and closed out their ten-run win with five in the sixth inning. The Vikings were led by Claudia Gurath (2-3), Karma Rouleau (1-3, R), Sylvia Pesch (1-3), Hazel Haugrud (1-3) and Emily Ahmed (1-2, RBI). Kia Nelson (5.2IP, 12H, 1BB, 2K, 6ER) was the losing pitcher.
“The girls made some nice plays tonight,” stated Pelican Rapids Head Coach Derrick Nelson. “Need to continue on making solid contact at the plate. Frazee has a solid team and does a very nice job of attacking the ball when they are at the plate.”
