Despite falling behind to the Spartans early in both games of Tuesdays double header in Cold Spring - the lady Cards continued to rally and brought the energy to compete in all 14 innings. Alexandria dropped the first game 8 to 12 after a strong 6th inning rally in which the Cards put up 4 runs and came within 2 of the Spartans. The second game the Cards battled back and forth with the Spartans but fell short losing 3 to 5.

The Cardinal pitching staff of Jordan O’Kane and Madie Heid shared time in the circle combining for 6 strikeouts and coming up with big outs at keys times throughout the night. The Cardinal offense was led by Brooklyn Stender, going 5 for 7 with 4 singles, 1 double, and 3 RBIs. Peyton Goetsch also went 5 for 7 on the night with 4 singles and 1 double with 2 RBI. Bri Burtzel came up with 2 momentum changing doubles in game 2 plating 3 runs.

The Cards hit the dirt again on Thursday at home in a double header against the Fergus Falls Otters. First pitch is set for 4:00 pm at Alexandria Area High School.
