The Fergus Falls boys registered 133 points to win the Brainerd Boys Track and Field Invitational on Tuesday.  Brainerd was second with 128 points.  They were followed by Pequot Lakes 2, Greenway/Nashwauk/Keewatin 51.5 and Bemidji 40.5.

“This is a great team win, we keep building on past performance and have been stepping up in the key moments even when the weather isn’t ideal,” said Head Coach Derek Meyer.  “We had a lot of best performances from our athletes today which was a surprise in some events with the cooler temperature.”

Alex Jensen placed first in the shot put and second in the discus, with Layten Drouillard winning the discus.  Luke Newman and Henry Bethel went 1-2 in the High Jump, Jaden Miller and Conrad Lobb were 1-2 in the 1600 and Shane Zierden placed first in the Triple Jump and third in the Long Jump.  Isaac Job had a pair of second place finishes in the 100 and 200, Jordan Lee had a breakout session in the pole vault, clearing 13 feet to win it, and the 4x100 meter relay team of Jordan Lee, Keisen Wick, Owen Babolian and Isaac Job placed first against a very fast Brainerd team.

The next competition for the Otters will be in Alexandria on Tuesday, May 2.
