Hunter Norby earned the win on the mound Friday as the Ashby baseball team defeated Silver Bay, 5-1. Norby surrendered one run on zero hits over three innings, striking out eight batters. Carter Spangler, Carson Spangler and Evan Paulson all put in work in relief out of the bullpen, steering their team towards the victory.
Ashby collected eight hits in the game with Torin Olson and Norby each recording multiple hits in the contest.
“We battled the cold today and had great efforts on the mound,” reported Ashby Head Coach Jared Larson. “It’s a super great way to start the year.”
