The Alexandria Girls Golf Team had the opportunity to travel to Edina on Thursday for a 9 hole dual meet with Edina.  They were able to schedule this event after a number of cancellations.  This event was played at Braemar Golf Club.  It was a beautiful afternoon in Edina, with temperatures in the mid-50's and only a slight breeze.  Both teams played well and both teams won!  Team scores ended up tied at 159.

Alexandria Results:  Ellie Sticha 38, Cora Larson 39, Hannah Boraas 41, Lauren Rebrovich 41, Rachel Bowen 43, Isabella Hagen 51, Kennedy Ellingson 53, and Teryn Jaworski 55.

Edina Results:  Kate Burk 37, Brooke Bothwell 38, Lauren Weber 41, Emmy Inderieden 41, Stella Bodensteiner 43, Carolina Cultu 43, Annika Howie 44, and Eliza Fraley 47.

“For those of you questioning this retired math teacher's adding skills, you may question why Edina's score was not 157,” said Coach Tim Zupfer of the Cardinals.  “We played 8 players in this event.  Scoring in a varsity meet takes the top 4 scores of players playing in positions 1 - 6.  Edina had players in the 7th and 8th positions post 41s.  (Technically, those two scores were exhibition scores).  Either way, the meet was a fun opportunity for our players to get back on the course and play a very competitive team.  (Edina placed 3rd in last year's State AAA Tournament).  We are looking for our local golf courses to open soon, and have 2 meets on the schedule next week.  Tuesday a Conference Meet at The Territory Golf Course and Wednesday an Invite/Conference Meet at The Alexandria Golf Club.”
