Winning pitcher Jonah Johnson didn’t allow a hit in his four innings on the mound Thursday, striking out 9 and walking 2 as the New York Mills baseball team posted a 4-1 victory over Brandon-Evansville.

“Today we saw some very good pitching and just couldn’t muster up any offense against a strong New York Mills ball club,” stated B-E Head Coach Brian Perleberg. “I was pleased with how our defense played and thought both Dezmond White (4IP, 5H, 4K, 1BB) and Brady Perleberg gave us some quality innings on the mound.  The season is still young and we have some of the foundational pieces in place, but there are plenty of things to work on.  We just need the opportunity to get outside so we can work on the parts of the game that you can’t simulate in a gymnasium setting.”

Jayden Hoidahl had the lone hit for the Chargers, a single in the 5th inning.
