Andy Peterson is now in his eighth year coaching golf at Ashby High School. This year, Ashby and Brandon-Evansville will join forces to form their boys’ and girls’ golf teams. “We are excited to blend together and become one team throughout the season,” said Coach Peterson.
The girls’ team has four returners with extensive varsity experience, led by 2021 state qualifier Celi Nelson. She is joined by Lilly Evavold, Emma Erickson and Raelynn Ripley.
“We will have one of the better girls’ varsity groups that we have had in a long time,” acknowledged Coach Peterson. “We will also be competitive on the boys’ side. We have a lot of players that are eager to improve their game and are motivated. We can always improve our technique and eliminate poor course awareness mistakes.”
Peterson will be assisted by Tom Gronwold. He sees Underwood and Ottertail Central as top teams in the Quad County Conference and OTC as the team to beat in the section.
