Bill Ibach is now in his fourteenth year leading the Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton baseball team.  Brant Mickelson, Damien Crawford and Shane Tahran will assist Ibach this spring as the Rebels return two All-Conference players from their 13-8 (8-4 HOL) Heart O’ Lakes Conference runner-up squad of a year ago.

“We lost several seniors to graduation last season, but only Brandon Watt had any previous varsity experience,” noted Coach Ibach.  “Colby Schreiber will be badly missed and Alex Wallin behind the plate, will be hard to replace.  We will miss the leadership that was displayed by all of our seniors.”

Returning players this year include seniors Kayden Camacho P/OF, Kaden Altobelli (P/OF/IF, Captain), Mckale Pierson (P/OF), Isaac Nelson (P/IF) and Thomas Jenny (P/OF), juniors Grant Anderson (P/1B), Carsen Berreth (C/IF), Owen Hoover (IF/C), Jordan Summers (IF, All-Conference, All-Section 8AA) and Kolton Wagner (C/P) and sophomores Austin Anderson (P/OF, All-Conference, Captain) and Landon Johnson (P/IF).

“Kayden Camacho brings the most experience to the team as a pitcher and outfielder and has a world of talent,” stated Ibach.  “He is committed to playing college baseball at Bismarck State College next year.  Jordan Summers was our MVP last year and led the team in most offensive categories.  He is a quiet leader, who really drives our offense.  Kaden Altobelli is our senior captain and shortstop/pitcher/outfielder who brings a lot of skills and leadership to our team.  I am looking for a big year from him.  Justin Anderson was our most effective pitcher last spring as a freshman and has been named a captain because of his leadership and his willingness to work hard and elevate the play of those around him.  Grant Anderson had a good year last year as a sophomore and also demonstrated leadership.  He will be an important part of the team’s success this season.”

Rounding out the roster are junior Aiden Wardien (OF) and sophomore Peyton Aas (P/IF).

“We didn’t have much varsity experience last year and it showed early in the season,” reported Coach Ibach.  “I felt like we hit our stride later on, but lost a tough game in the opening round at sections.  I think we will be better prepared this season and we have some exciting players who work hard and are hungry to be successful.  I am excited to see how our young players have progressed after a year of varsity experience and a year of summer ball.  This team has a good vibe and it should be a fun year.”

Ibach says Perham is once again the team to beat, “They are always the team to beat and they return some great pitchers this year, but I look for several teams to be in the mix.  We are on the young side this season, but have a lot of pitching depth.”
