The Fergus Falls Boys Track and Field team opened up the season indoors at Concordia College in Moorhead on Friday, placing second as a team with 109 points, behind Alexandria’s 164.5.

“We had a very successful first competition,” said Head Coach Derek Meyer of the Otters. “Placing this well as a team means we had great performances in all events. It has been some time since we have covered all the events and it is exciting to do so early in the season.”

The distance group on the 4x800m relay set the pace for the whole team with an exciting 1st place finish. The team included Tommy Erickson 9, David Ronnevik 10, Jaden Miller 9, and Conrad Lobb 12.

Jaden Miller had a quick turnaround to race again in the 1600m run and place 2nd overall. Tommy Erickson had a 3rd place finish in the 800m run.

Jordan Lee was the champion in the pole vault with an impressive 12 foot jump and added a 3rd place finish in the 55m hurdles.

Alex Jensen was champion in the shot put 49' 11", Darius Lockett was the champion in the triple jump 38"8" and Shane Zierdan was runner up in the triple jump, 38' 2.5".

Fergus Falls will be competing next Saturday, April 2nd at St. John's University for the Central Lakes Conference Indoor Championships.
